Discovery Day Academy is an independent private school in Bonita Springs, Florida, serving students from Toddlers through 8th Grade. We were founded in 2011 by Dr. Elizabeth Anne McDaniel with a singular belief: that every child deserves an education that is deep, meaningful, and truly inspiring.
At our campus on South Tamiami Trail, children are immersed in our proprietary Cognitive Project Based Learning (C-PBL) model, a framework built around authentic questions, community partnerships, fieldwork, and student capstone work that prepares children not just for the next grade, but for life.
Global Learning Standards We observe Florida, New York, Singapore and Finland Whole Child Learning Standards and go beyond them.
Small Class Sizes Intentionally small classes ensure every student receives individualized attention and support.

In 2011, Elizabeth McDaniel, then a primary school teacher with a deep passion for philosophy for children and deeper learning, opened the doors to Discovery Day Academy. Starting first in Clewiston, Florida, she then established a thriving campus in Bonita Springs.
Her passion for making a meaningful impact on education led her to create an independent lab school dedicated to teaching and learning research. The result was the Cognitive Project Based Learning model, a framework she continues to evolve based on the latest global learning research.
